Education

The Education section is different for U.S. and Canadian versions of the program. In both versions, students have a range of options for researching and viewing Career Cruising's extensive database of post-secondary schools and programs.

U.S. Version

Students can access the following exploration tools:

• Search for Schools & Majors – Enter a keyword or search by state to learn more about schools, majors, or programs of interest.

• Compare Schools – Compare attributes of Undergraduate, Graduate, and Career & Technical Schools, including student population, tuition, athletics, and more. View school profiles side by side to get a complete view of the options. 

• Planning Timeline – A step-by-step guide to help students plan and prepare for college with links to resources and tools within Career Cruising.
• School Selector – Use factors like location, majors offered, and student services to find suitable undergraduate, graduate, or career and technical schools.

To access the Education section, click Education at the top of the page or select Explore Education Options from the menu on the left.

School Selector

School Selector (U.S. version) lets students find post-secondary schools (undergraduate, career and technical, and graduate) that match specific requirements and goals. Students can narrow their search by indicating their preferences for a variety of criteria, including location, tuition, type of program, and more. 

As students answer School Selector questions, the number of schools that match their criteria is displayed on the left side of the page. They can click the View Results button to see their results at any time.

When students have finished choosing criteria, School Selector displays a list of schools that match their preferences. Using the tabs above the results, they can also find a list of close matches, review the search criteria they’ve used, or compare other schools.

Students can also revise sections of the School Selector by returning to the specific criteria on the left-hand navigation menu. To start a new session and clear previous search criteria, click the Start Over button. School Selector results can also be saved to a student’s My Plan by clicking the Save To My Plan button.

To access the School Selector:

1. Click Education at the top of the page OR select Explore Education Options from the menu on the left.
2. Select the type of School Selector to complete: Undergraduate Schools, Career & Technical Schools, or Graduate Schools.

Canadian Version

Students can access the following exploration tools:

• Search for Colleges & Universities – Enter a keyword or search by province to learn more about post-secondary schools of interest.

• Search for Programs – Type in a program name or search by cluster.

• Apprenticeships – Learn about apprenticeship training options available across the country.

To access the Education section, click Education at the top of the page OR select Explore Education Options from the menu on the left.
