Explore Careers by Alphabetical Index or Keyword

Students can choose to explore careers through an alphabetical index, which can be helpful when a user isn’t sure of the spelling of a particular career, like psychologist or veterinarian. A student can click on any of the careers of interest to view the detailed occupation profile. Students can also type in a career name or keyword to search.

To explore careers by alphabetical index or keyword:

  2. Click a letter from the middle of the page to explore career names that begin with that letter or enter a term in the Keyword Search bar.

Explore Careers by School Subject

Students who don’t know what careers interest them, but do know what school subjects they enjoy, can use this section to explore their options. It's also a great section to engage younger students at the beginning of the career exploration process.

Classroom teachers can use this search tool to create an activity where students explore careers related to their particular subject; for example, math or music. A student can click any of the careers of interest to view the detailed occupation profile.

To explore careers by school subject:

  1. Click Careers at the top of the page OR select Learn About Careers from the menu on the left.

Career Selector complements the Matchmaker assessment because students are in control of the information being entered. It's also a helpful resource for students with special needs as they can specify the tasks they feel comfortable doing.

  2. Click Start Career Selector on the right-hand side of the page.
