What is Single Sign-On (SSO) and can I set it up?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is a time-saving tool that allows students to access many applications and programs with a single set of login credentials.
With Career Cruising SSO, students can log into a portal (such as Google, a Learning Management System, or a Student Information System), and then access their Career Cruising account without a separate login. In the background, Career Cruising receives data to verify the identity of the user and securely authenticate their access. SSO provides a positive user experience for your staff and students because they don’t need to remember a separate set of logins.
Career Cruising's SSO service is offered at no extra cost to schools and districts that:
- have completed data integration
- have an infrastructure that supports one of the following SSO options: Google SSO, Powerschool SSO, LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability), ADFS (Active Directory Federated Service), and SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language)
There may be additional requirements for some SSO options. If your District is not able to use one of the above options, we can enter your request as a suggestion. Additional SSO offerings will be added based on demand and resources.
Note: Career Cruising must generate unique usernames and passwords for all students, even your district opts for SSO. These usernames and passwords will not be needed if your district has SSO; however, students can still to log in at careercruising.com with these credentials.
